Gail and Jeremy / Fedora Funk
The Pittsburgh-based Gail & Jeremy Jazz Quartet bring a freshness and vitality to the jazz scene by creating music enjoyed by the jazz aficionado and novice alike. They play a wide range of traditional jazz, jazzy arrangements of contemporary pop tunes by artists such as Madonna and Jim Croce, and dashes of Motown or Stax hits. Bringing romance, nostalgia, energy and creativity with them to every gig, they may be classy, but they're still smokin'!
Gail Novak (vocalist) graduated from Duquesne University, where she studied classical voice and music education. Her intensive vocal and musical training combines with a lifelong passion for singing to give her an impressive ease of delivery, depth of expression, and breadth of style. She teaches music and directs a performing arts program at a local private academy, teaches private voice and piano lessons, and is in demand as a classical and sacred soloist, jazz performer, and studio session musician.
Jeremy Fisher (guitarist, composer, songwriter) studied classical and jazz guitar at West Virginia Wesleyan College. His facility on the instrument compliments a simultaneously nostalgic and yet freshly creative style. He is the guitar instructor at an local academy, teaches privately, and directs the music and leads the gospel choir at a local church. His original songs reflect environmental and social passions, and his arrangements of pop and jazz standards display his musical training and unique personal touch
