Mark Weakland See his picture Mark Weakland, Percussion Man and Little Drummer Boy, has freelanced with some of Western Pennsylvania's best bands, artists and studios for more than 15 years. From classical to Dixieland to funk to folk, Mark's played it all. From the stages of The Three
Rivers Arts Festival and The Pittsburgh Folk Festival to Nickšs Fat City,
Rosebud and Metropol, Mark has drummed with Sandoz (Relix Records), The
University of Pittsburgh Jazz Ensemble and African Drum Ensemble, Big Idea
(finalists in the Pittsburgh Rock Challenge), Anne Feeney,
the Swing Shifters, jazz meisters Don Aliquo, Eric DeFade, John
Blake and Eric Suessoff, The Mountain Playhouse Orchestra, just to name a few! Mark covers everything
from Dave Matthews and The Grateful Dead, to James Taylor, Stevie Wonder,
Joan Osborne and G. Love and Special Sauce. When he's hired for
those soft and special atmospheric occasions, he croons out classics from
Nat King Cole, Rogers and Hammerstein and George and Ira Gershwin. He also
spends a good deal of time scatting, bellowing and strumming out his own
unique blend of jazzy/rocky/folky/funky acoustic originals. Click here for more information on Mark Click here to see his picture |
